Guest Lecture on IHRM
The Department of Human Resource Management, in collaboration with the Consulate General of India at Hambantota, hosted a guest lecture for third-year HRM specialization students on 08th January 2024. The session, focusing on International Human Resource Management, took place in MFLT 2B from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Dr. Hemamali Ganewatta, the course coordinator for International HRM, warmly welcomed attendees and introduced the esteemed guest speaker, Mr. Harvinder Singh, Consul General of India at Hambantota. Mr. Singh delivered a captivating presentation on expatriate management, integrating academic theories with real-life encounters. His engaging discussion shed light on the complexities and practical aspects of handling international assignments, leaving students with a more profound comprehension and a broadened perspective. The interactive Q&A session that followed was highly beneficial, providing students with essential insights into “Expatriation and Repatriation”. Miss G.N.M Perera, an enthusiastic undergraduate, expressed attendees' gratitude with a thoughtful vote of thanks. The event was attended by Mr. R.M.D.D. Rathnayake, Head of the Department of Human Resource Management, along with several academic staff from the department. Mr. R. Nishantha, the Librarian of the Consulate General of India, played a pivotal role in coordinating this important session.
