Field Visit -2024
The Department of Human Resource Management organized a one-day field visit on the 8 th of February 2024, for 3000-level HRM Specialization students of the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Ruhuna. The students visited Bodyline (Pvt) Ltd, a joint venture of MAS Holdings which is one of the largest apparel sector organizations in the South Asian Region that has nearly 8000 workforces. The organization has an unbreakable reputation for its application of standard HR practices and a sustainable working environment. The other destination organization was PGP Glass Ceylon PLC, the only glass manufacturing companyin Sri Lanka with a rich history of over 60 years.
The primary objective of the visit was to augment the students' theoretical understanding by exposing them to the intricate tapestry of contemporary HRM practices in action. Through insightful presentations, interactive discussions, and engaging Q&A sessions, students gleaned invaluable knowledge on various facets of HRM, including diverse recruitment strategies, innovative training methodologies, and dynamic employee engagement techniques. Additionally, the visit offered them a unique platform to observe the practical application of organizational skills firsthand, fostering the development of their capabilities in this area.
