Dr Indrani is a Professor in Accounting in the Department of Accountancy at the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. She obtained a B. Com Degree with First Class Honours from the University of Ruhuna, and an MSc (Management) Degree (specialized in Accounting) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. She won Victoria University (VU) International Postgraduate Research Scholarship under which she completed her PhD (in Accounting) at Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. She has served the University as an administrator i.e. Head of the Department, Dean of the Faculty, and also the national and international community through several positions, statutory bodies and other committees in the University system. Her prominent research interests include Management Accounting practices; Management Control Systems; Role of Accounting in Environmental Management; Efficiency and Accountability in Higher Education, some of which were predominantly qualitative and published in recognized indexed Journals.
