Shalini Weerakkody is currently a Lecturer in Business Management at the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. She graduated with First Class Honors in Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, with a GPA of 3.78. She is also pursuing an M.Sc. in Management by research at the same institution.

Weerakkody’s research interests include management practices in human resources, digital transformation, and women’s empowerment in professional sectors.

Weerakkody received the Best Paper Award at the 18th International Conference on Business Management (ICBM 2021) in Human Resources Management and Labour Relations.

Studies on the social and economic success of women workers in the Sri Lankan garment industry, presented at ICBM 2021. 

 Research on digitalization's impact on poverty eradication and AI in mindfulness, published in multiple conferences and journals.

 Weerakkody is a member of Aiesec JLC and Japura Vikings at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and she served as a senior prefect and sports team member at Rathnavali Girls College.
