Idea Cloud 2021

Idea Cloud 2021 is renowned business start-up idea competition for tertiary education students organized by Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in collaboration with Sri Lanka Inventors Commission (SLIC)

Target Competitors

Undergraduates of all State Universities and other Higher Educational institutions in Sri Lanka.

Participation can be individual or in teams of up to 4 members

Types of Ideas Eligible For The Competition

Ideas that have not yet been commercialized and can be used as the foundation for a new business are eligible. Participants are encouraged to submit innovative ideas of the following nature: new business models, startups, infrastructural modifications, or products..

Idea Cloud Proposal Submission Guidelines

• The proposal must contain the following components. 
  
  1. Title page ( Including the suitable name for your business idea)
  2. Content
  3. Introduction
  4. Problem identification 
  5. Your innovative idea 
  6. Feasibility of the idea
  • Technological/ Operational feasibility
  • Market feasibility
  • Financial feasibility
  • Environmental feasibility
  7. Implementation and Sustainability of the idea

 

Applicants should prepare the proposals according to the formatting specification
given below.

• Font: Times New Roman
• Paragraph text: 12pt, 1.5 lines spacing, justified
• Number of maximum 10 pages (A4 size)

 Evaluation of the Idea Cloud Proposal

The submitted initial ideas will be evaluated for their contribution, originality, feasibility, and sustainability in two rounds: the preliminary and the final.

The final round will be conducted on 2nd September 2021 at the event of ICME 2021, with the participation of five finalists chosen at the preliminary round. The three best ideas will be rewarded at the end of the final round with great celebration in the presence of a distinguished audience. 

Chosen new invention/s will receive financial assistance from Sri Lanka Inventors Commission to gain patents, create prototypes, or enter the market.

Submission of the business proposal can be done by sending an email
to ideacloud@mgt.ruh.ac.lk together with the completed Applicant/s’ Information Form on or before 30th June 2021.
